The importance of installing the right system
When investing in the installation of air conditioning in your commercial premises, or upgrading your current system, purchasing the right sized system is essential.
If you purchase a commercial air conditioning system based on cost alone, you run the risk of installing a unit that is too small. You may save money in the short term, but over time it can cost you a lot more.
The reason being is that an air conditioning unit that is too small for your building will be forced to work harder and its cooling cycle will be running for longer periods of time, resulting in more frequent breakdowns. It’s also going to require more frequent maintenance.
You will know if your system is too small for the space if it struggles to maintain a constant temperature during the heat of the day.
However, bigger isn’t always better. If you have a central air system and use a unit that is too large for your premises, it may cool the building too quickly. This can result in the system shutting off because the temperature has reached the thermostat set point, but the unit hasn’t run long enough to sufficiently de-humidify the air. This can result in a clammy, humid feeling that may make the air seem warmer than it really is.
You can avoid the trouble of choosing the wrong sized commercial air conditioner by first speaking to our expert team at Air Extreme.
